Delivering on the Promise of DooF!

This new Web site format represents a major step towards making good food fun for kids, parents, teachers, and families. To celebrate our new launch, we’ll be adding weekly dispatches from our Planet DooF aliens as they voyage from their foodless galaxy to discover the wonders of food on Planet Earth. For all you DooF-a-Palooza attendees who are anxious to know when there’ll be another live event, in 2010 we’ll be launching DooF-on-Wheels, a biodiesel-powered DooF bus, to bring the DooF Team and film crew to local communities to show kids how much fun good food can be.

• Educators will soon be able to download a DooF Curriculum created by two teachers working in the Oakland Unified School District in collaboration with Alameda County Nutrition Services.
• Get the DooF scoop on developments in the food world with regular blog postings from our team of food experts, educators, and public.
• In December, we’ll be introducing the Cookbot recipe planner, a tool for families to get recipes from the food they have in their kitchen.
• Finally, we’ll be inviting kids to audition for our DooF Camp, where we’ll select a new team of kids to film with us in 2010.

We expect our site to be a resource for kids, parents and teachers and we invite you to join us with your own comments, postings, videos and recipe submissions so dust off your aprons and your video camera and join us for good food fun!.

If you’re a parent, teacher or kid with a recipe, a story, an idea, a lesson or an opinion you’d like to share, please send it to us and if it’s suitable we’ll run it on our “glob” page. We may even invite you to become one of our regular DooF “globbers”.

Thanks!

Mike Axinn
