Jack London Square, Oakland
The 3rd annual DooF-a-Palooza, a free admission food and family festival for children of all ages and adults takes place at beautiful Jack London Square in Oakland. Like the wildly successful prior two festivals at Google Headquarters, DooF-a-Palooza, a food-backwards, table-to-source, food educational experience, includes contests, games, entertainment and fun hands-on activities with growers, chefs, purveyors, businesses, and cookbook authors all filmed and streamed live online.

20,000 people discover first-hand how the Bay Area’s best food purveyors, farmers, and organizations called ‘Sourcerers’ bring their magic to our tables. Be a Sourcerer! We encourage all DooF-a-Palooza participants to become Sourcerers and share in the journey of food from its source. Everyone gets to play in the fun!

I am so exited to be participating at this event. I have read wonderful reviews and cannot wait for the event. One more reason to love living in the fabulous Bay Area!
We had a great time at this event two years ago! Our 6 year old daughter still talks about it and is counting the days to the next Doof-A-Palooza!

This definitely needs to post pronto in our ‘positive picks’ series that I’m running on Shaping Youth this month, as I always have enjoyed the event in prior years at Google…If you have further info/outreach/photos or key quotes & updates you’d like to share, ping me on the site or on twitter @ShapingYouth and I’ll try to get it posted before Mon. Looks fab and festive…great people, sponsors, food and fun.
Already making some plans to meet w/a couple of other startups there, so spreading the word…

Looking forward to this, it will be lots of fun!
Come home a FREE smoothie sample made with Wild Veggie the all natural, gluten free, soup that can be made into recipes. Carrot, Broccoli and Red Bell Pepper are the three varieties. We also have free coloring books for the younger kids and a coupon for the adult version. Enjoy!
Proselytizing about food, so another generation of rich lefty white kids can be indoctrinated on the supposed benefits of “organic,” “local,” “sustainable,” and other bull. Great.
Oh, Mr. D’Antonia, don’t be so frowny-faced. It’s just an opportunity to have fun and socialize around food rather than around single-shooter games or cynical blog-bashing. Go out there, and discover that it’s actually not just rich lefty white kids, but people who are interested in where their food comes from. And having fun. Try it some day. Maybe you won’t be such a downer at parties and you’d have some friends.
where are photos from today’s event posted? (it was a great event!)
what a fun event for kids and families! thanks for keeping it free for the community and to everyone who participated. can’t wait for next year…
