Y

Y is twelve in Earth years. She’s an expert solar sailor from her experience “land-boarding,” a Doofian kids game that involves surfing the vast expanses of their planet. She’s good at science, and machines are pretty much second nature to her, whether it’s reprogramming Cookbot or fixing the teleporter so they can sample the latest Earth foods. If anyone truly knows how their space ship works, it’s Y. (This really annoys Trippe who doesn’t understand but thinks he should). As the Doofians begin to learn about food on Earth, Y shows an immediate grasp of nutrition, the science of food. She is able to absorb a multitude of facts and is always the one asking all the “Y” questions. She’s also a bit mischievous, willing to try things even her adult colleagues shy away from.
